Food Revolution

Tonight is the premier of Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution. A TV show that is going to be very intense and hopefully eye opening for a lot of people. It's about the kind of food schools in The United States are serving  their children. It's also about the high rates of sickness and death product of unhealthy nutrition but most of all is about a REVOLUTION.

Jamie's efforts will be to try and change the way children eat at school and at home by teaching people how to cook healthy economical meals that will save their lives.
Here is the trailer , and here are the program times as well as some sneak peaks of the show.

I first heard about Jamie's Food Revolution Project when he won the 1020 TED Prize, if you have some time watch his Talk. It's passionate and moving.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to watch the show here in Germany, must wait until it's on YouTube.
How is school food in your city?

  1. It's a valiant effort on Jamie's part. I'm taping the episodes so I'll be able to watch them soon. The school food here in New Jersey is probably considered pretty good compared to other parts of the U.S. But, I'm sure it's still bad. I can't recall a decent meal I had in school and I wasn't turned on to healthy foods until I went to college. I remember the first time I saw one of my house mates sautéing vegetables. I was shocked! I had never seen that before and there I was 21 years old.

  2. I love when Jamie is crying. Welcome to America buddy.

This is a great concept, I just wish Jamie Oliver would lose those last 15 pounds himself!

  3. It's pretty sad to see people resist him and all his valuable knowledge because he's "foreign." I know the feeling! He did a great job, though. Patrick, maybe you should send him some info about PCP!

  4. CNN here in Japan (and probably worldwide) was advertising this up the yin-yang. The kids not knowing the names of veggies was a truly sad moment...
